Amarillo 11, El Paso 5 (Game 1 – 7 Innings)
The Amarillo Sox turned a one-run deficit into a six-run advantage with a pair of five-run innings to close out the first game of a double header with the El Paso Diablos 11-5. RF Chris Valencia had up the score in the fifth inning when he scored on an error. Two batters later 3B Brandon Jones stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and blasted a grand slam – his third home run of the season. Jones, who was 2-for-2 with four RBI, scored again in the sixth after a single from CF Jason Martin. Martin scored in the next at bat to give the Sox another five-run inning. Martin finished the game 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Amarillo 12, El Paso 3 (Game 2 – 7 Innings)
The Amarillo Sox completed the sweep of the twinbill with the El Paso Diablos as 3B Brandon Jones homered again and the rest of the Sox racked up 15 hits in the 12-3 win. C Trey Ford, who bats right behind Jones in the order, also had a homerun in the second game of the doubleheader as he posted a team-high three hits in four at bats to go with two runs and two RBI. Four other Sox had multi-hit games including RF Chris Valencia who was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. The Sox starting pitcher Ryan Mitchell threw all seven innings and allowed just two runs on four hits. 3B Devin Thaut had two of those hits and an RBI.
