Kansas City led El Paso 5-3 after the third inning, but the Diablos scored the next six runs to top the T-Bones 9-6 at Community America Ballpark. Catcher Alberto Espinosa hit a grand slam in the top of the ninth to help seal the deal for El Paso, and Espinosa had two hits, four RBI and one run in the game. Kansas City scored a run in the bottom of the ninth when shortstop Jimmy Mojica hit a solo home run, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. The T-Bones registered 10 total hits, and Mojica led with three hits, two runs and two RBI in five at-bats. Second baseman Albenis Machado led El Paso with three hits and three runs in four at-bats. Jon Plefka earned his first win of the season, allowing one hit and striking out one in one inning pitched.
