The Diablos are excited to announce the signing of seasoned catcher Patrick Arlis. Arlis, 31, has spent the last three years with the Milwaukee Brewers AAA affiliate, the Nashville Sounds. The Winfield, IL native will be in his 11th year of professional baseball this summer when he joins the Diablos.

Arlis started his baseball career back in his home state when he spent 2000-2002 catching for the University of Illinois. In his last collegiate year, Arlis was named the Big Ten Conference All-Star Catcher. After his college ball days, the Florida Marlins came calling and selected Arlis in the 11th Round of the 2002 Amateur Draft. He stayed with the Marlins organization from 2002-2007. During those years, he went from A- to AAA playing in Jamestown, Greensboro, Jupiter, Carolina, and lastly Albuquerque where he made his first AAA appearance.

During Arlis’ minor league career, he has caught in 397 games, had 1317 at bats, 141 runs, 297 hits and 121 RBIs in 420 games with a .226 AVG and .306 OBP.
