Diablos Drop First Game Of Seven Game Road Trip

Diablos Drop First Game Of Seven Game Road Trip
Sports
Thursday, July 7, 2011 - 10:24pm

Kansas City scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning en route to a 6-2 win against El Paso at Community America Ballpark. El Paso took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when left fielder Chad Gabriel hit a solo home run, but the T-Bones came back in the fourth when catcher Johnny Bowden hit a two-RBI single to center field and second baseman Gerardo Caceres followed with an RBI double. Kansas City tacked on two more in the bottom of the seventh inning when center fielder Keanon Simon and right fielder Ray Sadler each batted in a run. El Paso scored in the top of the eighth, but it wouldn’t be enough to top the T-Bones.  Bowden led Kansas City with three hits and three RBI in four at-bats, and Simon chipped in two hits, one RBI and one run. Reid Santos earned his sixth win of the season, allowing seven hits, two runs and striking out six in 7.1 innings pitched.
