(El Paso) — On a cold night in Chicago, the Bears were on fire or maybe it was just the Dallas defense that had a meltdown.
Chicago defeated Dallas 45-28 on Monday Night Football, dropping the Cowboys a full game behind Philadelphia with three weeks left in the NFL's regular season.
Jay Cutler, who has an ankle sprain, did not play for Chicago and the Bears did not miss their starting quarterback. Josh McCown tossed four touchdown passes and Chicago scored on its first eight possessions.
Tony Romo tried to keep pace. He had three touchdown passes but Dallas trailed 24-14 at the half and Chicago pulled away with 21 second half points. Romo did not even finish the game as Kyle Orton came off the bench in the final minutes when the outcome was already decided.
The Cowboys lost the game and may have lost Sean Lee ....again. The linebacker missed the last two games with a hamstring problem and suffered a neck injury that sent him to the bench in the third quarter.
Dallas hosts Green Bay on Sunday then finishes the year with a road trip to Washington before hosting Philadelphia in the final game of the regular season.
