Late game mistakes doom Dallas in KC

Two crucial late turnovers doomed the Dallas Cowboys Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in a one-point loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. It iced the Cowboys chances at at 2-0 start for the first time since 2008

Cowboys Head Coach Jason Garrett was asked about the game and he said the team just did not protect the football on offense and force turnovers on defense.

"Last week did an outstanding job taking the ball away and protecting the football had a plus five turnover ratio against the Giants in week one and came back and were minus today today. Battled in all three phases didn't play well enough in all three phases to get the win," said Garrett.

Dallas Quarterback Tony Romo pointed to mistakes that held them to just one touchdown.

"I mean you could see it it's penalties and sacks and just...you know anytime you have minus plays down there it's very difficult especially on the road and you know that hurt us today that obviously came back to no allow us to do what we needed to do....so that was disappointing," said Romo.

The Cowboys were held to just 37 total yards rushing on 16 attempts. Dez Bryant was Romo's top target with 9 catches for 141 and the lone TD for Dallas.

Tight end Jason Witten had three catches to pass Shannon Sharpe for second-most all time for tight ends at 817 trailing only Tony Gonzalez.

Dallas returns to AT&T Stadium for Week 3 to host the 1-1 St. Louis Rams Sunday.
