Ex-Cowboy Marion Barber Taken to Hospital for 'Psychological Evaluation'
Mansfield, Texas (KDAF) — Looks like ex-Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber has run into problems.
On Sunday, Mansfield cops took the former pro-bowler into custody around 8P.M. Cops confirmed they decided not to arrest him, rather to shuttle Barber to a local hospital for psychological evaluation.
"He was trying to talk himself out of being arrested, and turns out, they went ahead and put him in the vehicle and took him in," witness Michelle Morgan recalled.
"I'm not sure if he was arrested, or put at JPS, we also heard."
Yeah, you thought your weekend was rough.
Mansfield PD said 911 calls led them to Barber's neighborhood on the 700 block of Moore Road. Witnesses said Barber reportedly turned ballistic when he saw a Mercedes parked too close to his house.
"What we're hearing is that he picked up a rock and started hitting the vehicle out here because it was apparently too close to his property which he just bought less than a month ago," Morgan explained.
Talk about a zone defense!
A report filed with Mansfield police earlier that day shows cops came out to that location for criminal mischief.
Guess what they found? A banged-up Mercedes.
Wonder if the vehicle set-off "Marion the Barbarian? "
When cops talked to Barber Sunday evening, they said it didn't take them long to figure out he was acting a little out of bounds.
"He was cooperative. I mean, he wasn't acting up at all, not from the point I saw him," Morgan said.
No word if Barber remains in the hospital.
Note to neighbors – you might want to watch where you park, if you want no 'Moore' drama on your road.
