Cowboys set to host NFL leading Denver
El Paso, TX — Two first-place teams will play Sunday in Dallas, when the 4-0 Denver Broncos play the 2-2, NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys.
For the Cowboys' defense, the hot topic of discussion this week is how to stop Peyton Manning and the record-setting Broncos offense.
Cowboys Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin spoke to the media about Manning. "Actually, as good as he was, this is the best that I have seen him play. He knows defenses so well from the snap count, the hard count to reading everybody on the field."
Cowboys Cornerback Morris Claiborne spoke about the Broncos offense, and if they will target him. "Denver is going to target everybody. If you go back and read Peyton Manning's stats, he gets the ball to everybody. We all need to be on our game and I think we can do that."
Sean Lee, Cowboys Linebacker, spoke about the challenge of facing the Denver offense. "They have a ton of unbelievable players. It starts with Peyton Manning, one of the greatest football players of all time. Right now they are playing at a unbelievably high level, so obviously it will be an extreme challenge but it is something we are going to embrace. That is what makes the NFL great -- playing against great players and teams like this."
Kickoff is Sunday afternoon at 2:25pm MT from AT&T stadium.
