Cowboys miss the playoffs with loss to Eagles

Nick Foles helped Chip Kelly succeed in his first season as Eagles head coach. Philadelphia defeated the Cowboys, 24-22 in what was an NFC East division title game... and for the third straight year, with the division title on the line in the final game of the regular season, the Cowboys came up short.

Foles threw two touchdown passes, while NFL rushing champion LeSean McCoy had 131 yards and a receiving score in the Eagles victory.

"We kept fighting. We believed in each other," said Foles, who was 17 of 26 for 263 yards. "When the offense was struggling, the defense picked us up."

McCoy finished with 1,607 yards and became the first Philadelphia running back to win the rushing title since 1949.

Dallas had a chance to win the game, but Kyle Orton's pass was intercepted by Brandon Boykin in the final moments, which sealed the loss.

"You feel a tremendous sense of pride about how the team played, how they fought, how they scratched, how they clawed, how they battled," Garrett said. "But having said that, we didn't get the job done."

Orton, who was 30 of 46 for 358 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in his first start in two years, since 2011 in Kansas City. Orton started for the injured Romo, who had surgery on Friday for a back injury.

Dallas finished the season 8-8.
