Oxnard, CA — The Dallas Cowboys gave the receiving corps an unexpected day off, and put the ball into the hands of rookie running back Joseph Randle today at training camp in Oxnard, California. Randle is a rookie out of Oklahoma State, and coaches think he can be the main backup to DeMarco Murray, but Lance Dunbar and Phillip Tanner are giving him a run for his money.
This week consisted of short-yardage and goal-line plays for the first time this camp. Randle got a lot of the attention today.
"It's just about getting better each day, got to knock a little rust off but I think I am doing good for my first day. I hope I get to take a lot of snaps, just like any other player, I don't want to ride the bench, it's hard for me just to sit on the sideline and watch practice. If it was up to me, I would never come out of the game."
6:00pm Sunday, Dallas will face Miami in the NFL's Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, televised by NBC Newschannel 9.
