Dallas Cowboys Begin Training Camp

Sports
Thursday, July 28, 2011 - 6:49pm

The Dallas Cowboys were back on the practice field. The boys held their first workout of the season and the first under new head coach Jason Garrett. The morning workout was just a walk through in shorts and shirts, with Tony Romo taking several snap as the first team offense took reps against the first team defense. Even though it was just a walk through, Romo talked about the excitement him and the rest of the Cowboys had to be back on the field.

"I mean, it was just a walk-through this morning so obviously had to calm the tempo. The guys were excited and ready to go. It's good to be back. It feels like it should. It's time to play some football."

One person not at practice for the Cowboys was defensive end Stephen Bowen, who signed a five year deal with division rival the Washington Redskins for 27 and a half million dollars. But the Cowboys did sign first round draft pick Tyron Smith, to a four year 12.5 million dollar deal.
