Cruziero names roster for game vs Chivas

Cruzeiro Esporte Clube announced today the 21-man roster for the upcoming international match against Club Deportivo Guadalajara on Sunday, July 6 (9:00 p.m. ET), presented by Pepsi at the Sun Bowl Stadium located on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in El Paso, Texas.

Chivas will begin their 2014 U.S. Tour against current champions of Campeonato Brasileiro and Campeonato Mineiro, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. The Brazilian powerhouse, also referred to as A Raposa (The Fox), has won the Brasileirão three times and the Copa do Brasil four times. The team travelling to El Paso to face Chivas includes former World Cup player Júlio Baptista, FIFA Under-17 world champion Fábio Deivson Maciel and FIFA World Youth Championship UAE 2003 winner Dagoberto Pelentier.

Midfielder Júlio Baptista has had a big impact since joining Cruzeiro in July of 2013 having scored a total of 12 goals in 38 matches. Before coming back to the Brazilian league, Baptista has played for a number of European clubs including Sevilla, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Málaga. He was also a member of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa squad and has recorded 6 goals in 58 matches for Brazil.

The box office hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 5 and at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 6. Please note that the box office will close on Friday, due to the 4th of July national holiday.
