Cowboys Struggle in San Diego, but Pull Out Victory
Saturday, August 21: In their third preseason game, the Dallas Cowboys finally scored an offensive touchdown. But only one touchdown from this highpowered Dallas offense will not get it done night in and night out. Tony Romo hit Miles Austin for the lone Dallas touchdown right before halftime, tying the game at 7-7. Martellus Bennett caught a touchdown pass from Jon Kitna in the fourth quarter, then Victor Butler sacked Jonathan Crompton, forcing the ball loose in the endzone for a safety and a 16-14 Cowboys victory.
The Cowboys managed only 194 total yards, compared to 294 for the Chargers. Kitna led the way by going 9-15 for 84 yds and a TD.
