(El Paso) — The Dallas Cowboys sets all kinds of records on Sunday night and all of them were bad if you are a fan of the Blue and Silver.
The Dallas defense allowed 625 yards against New Orleans, that's a franchise record for both the Saints and Cowboys..
The Saints racked up an NFL record 40 first downs while the Cowboys ran a total of 43 plays from scrimmage.
It resulted in an embarrassing 49-17 defeat.
As strange as it sounds, the Cowboys actually led this game 10-7. DeMarco Murray had 89 yards rushing and his second quarter touchdown gave Dallas the early lead. The 'Boys would not score again until the final minute of the third quarter.
Saints Quarterback Drew Brees threw for 392 yards with four touchdowns and had several highlight real completions including 52 yards to Kenny Still and Marques Colston on a 22 yard touchdown.
Brees had 19 straight completions at one juncture of the game.
Tony Romo completed 10-24 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown while enduring three sacks for a 24 yard loss.
Dez Bryant had one catch for 44 yards.
If you prefer to look at the glass as half full rather than half empty; the Cowboys are still in first place in the NFC East. They share the top spot with the 5-5 Philadelphia Eagles.
Dallas does not play again until November 24th at the Giants.
