Cowboys Reeling After Loss to Vikings

Sports

POSTED: Sunday, October 17, 2010 - 9:28pm

UPDATED: Sunday, October 17, 2010 - 10:28pm

Two teams with high preseason expectations and disappointing starts to their seasons, Dallas and Minnesota were both in desperate need of a win to have any hope for a playoff spot. But once again, penalties and turnovers doomed the Cowboys chances to get their second win of the year and now fall to 1-4 on the season.

Trailing at halftime 14-7, Percy Harvin's 95-yard opening kickoff return for a touchdown to tie the game put the momentum in Minnesota's direction and Dallas could not overcome it.

Tied at 21 in the 4th quarter and driving, Tony Romo threw his second interception to the Viking's EJ Henderson.

Minnesota capitalized with a 38-yard Ryan Longwell fieldgoal that ended up being the difference.

Romo finished the game 24/32, 220 yards, 3 touchdowns, and the 2 interceptions.

Now, Dallas will attempt to salvage what they have left of their season when they host the New York Giants October 24th in a big division matchup.
