The Dallas Cowboys suffered a big blow early on as corner back Terence Newman will miss the entire preseason. Newman left practice late on Wednesday after favoring his right groin and did not return. While the starting corner back will most likely miss the entire pre-season, Newman said he will be ready for the season opener, via twitter.

The Cowboys will look for fourth year corner back Orlando Scandrick to fill Newman's spot for the time being. While the Cowboys lost a member of their secondary they added another member to it today. As Cowboys signed saftey Abram Elam to a one year deal. Elam who played for the Cleveland Browns last year, is familiar with Rob Ryan's defense and will be expected to start right away.

The Cowboys practiced early this morning, but moved this afternoon's practice time from 2:30pm to 6:30, due to the NFLPA recertifying as a union. The new CBA was ratified at approximately 3:00pm this afternoon, meaning all free agents can practice. The lockout is officially over.
