Cowboys Need OT to Defeat San Francisco

Overtime, Fractured Ribs, Separated Shoulders... all in a day's work for the Dallas Cowboys.  This afternoon, Dallas defeated San Francisco, 27-24 in overtime after Tony Romo, who missed most of the second half due to a fractured rib, hit Jesse Holley on a 77-yard pass play to set up a game winning field goal in overtime by Dan Bailey.

Running back Felix Jones separated his shoulder early in the game, Jerry Jones said. Felix Jones was fitted for a harness on the sideline and was able to return for the second series.

"I thought it was a great win for a lot of different reasons, we talk all the time that it takes everybody, and certainly it did today. We had a number of guys who were out prior to the game, and a number of guys who got hurt during, so we had a lot of young guys out there playing", said Dallas Head Coach Jason Garrett.  Romo, injured in the game, spoke to Garrett before he went back out in the fourth quarter.  "I told him I was good to go, Jay's a good coach, we're lucky to have him, and he was obviously looking out for my best interest, but when you can go, you go."

Holley had three receptions for 96 yards, but none bigger than the overtime catch.  "They say success is 2% preparation, 98% perspiration. When you put those together you have something special. I have been working hard for a very long time. I just was ready for the opportunity."

Jason Garrett added, "We made a lot of big plays in the game, converted some third downs, fourth downs, prevented them from converting, getting the ball back. Obviously the kicks were big, and the big play to Holley was big, so it was a total team effort. A lot of guys had to step up and they did that today."

Next week, Dallas hosts Washington on Monday Night Football.
