Cowboys' Kitna Retires from NFL

A Dallas Cowboys is hanging them up. Jon Kitna told the Dallas Cowboys earlier today that he intends to retire.

Kitna is 39-years old and has been Tony Romo's back-up for the past three seasons.

Kitna's most extensive action with the Cowboys came in the second half of the 2010 season after Romo broke his collarbone.

In 10 games, Kitna passed for 2,365 yards with 16 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

He played in only three games for the Cowboys in 2011.

Kitna entered the NFL in 1997 with Seattle as an undrafted free agent from Central Washington.

He finishes his 15-season career with 2,677 completions for 29,745 yards and 169 touchdowns with 165 interceptions in 141 games with Seattle, Cincinnati, Detroit and the Cowboys.
