The Franklin Cougars Volleyball were ranked 8th in the 5A classification, and had gone further than any other Franklin team since 2003, but Arlington proved too much of a challenge tonight in LaMesa, Texas, defeating Franklin 23-25, 25-23, 27-25 and 25-20 in the 5A Regional Quarterfinals.

Head Coach Flo Valdez told NewsChannel 9, " the kids made us proud, Arlington was just too big, we had a hard time getting over their blocks.  The kids battled all night, I couldn't tell you how many lead changes there were, there were so many.  It was a heck of a match, we were unfortunately on the losing end."

Franklin ends the season 42-5 overall.
