Cougar Baseball Players sign to play at EPCC

This week, five Franklin High School Baseball players will sign scholarships to play baseball in college.  On Tuesday, Jose Favela signed as a catcher and first baseman to Howard Junior College.  Favela batted .311, 1 2b, 7 hr, 30 RBI, 11bb, 12k, 9 hbp for the Cougars last season as a Junior.  On Wednesday, Joseph Camacho, Eddie Torres and Jacob Sotelo, all pitchers, signed to play at El Paso Community College.  Camacho's stats: 18.1 ip, 8bb, 20k, 1 w, 1 l, 3 saves, 5.35 era.  Torres' stats: 2nd team all district (2011), 30.2 ip, 10 bb, 44k, 5 w, 1 l, 2.97 era.  Sotelo's stats: 16.0 ip, 2 bb, 10 k, 4 w, 0 l, 3.50 era.  On Thursday, Jacob Mena will sign to Western Texas College.  Mena's stats: District defensive MVP (2011), .418, 12 2b, 2 hr, 20 RBI, 21bb, 11 k, 4 hbp
