Today, Bob Anderson was named Head Coach at Coronado High School, only the third head football coach in the school's history after longtime coach Don Brooks retired.  Brooks was head coach for 35 years, suceeding Jack Quarles.

Anderson spent five seasons as Defensive Coordinator under Brooks, and credits the coach with helping keep his football coaching dream alive.

"It's very exciting, you know, here at Coronado we have only had two coaches, and the last one, coach Brooks, has been here for 35 years. There is a lot of tradition here. I am excited for the opportunity, and I am looking forward to next year," said Anderson.  Brooks added, "I am always excited when a coach under me moves up, and whether it was him or somebody else, I am proud when an assistant coach takes a job, so I am proud for him."

Spring football practice begins May 2.
