Cobras U-13 Soccer Team Advances to Regionals

El Paso's Cobras 98 Red under 13 soccer team won the right to represent in regionals and represent South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA) for their accomplishment of defeating two other conference teams from the inner south of Texas the weekend of May 14.

The weekend tournament was held in San Marcos, Texas and Cobras Red 98 defeated SA United 98 Boys Black 2, by the score of 6-2 and than defeated Lake Travis 98B Black by the score of 7-0. With their two victories Cobras Red 98 accumulated 19 points with 13 goals scored, 2 against for a difference of plus 11 with no fouls or expulsions during the competition. 
Under the direction of Cesar Sosa, Cobras Red 98 were crowned champions of South Texas and have won the right to represent STYSA in the regional competition that will take place on June 9th thru the 12 in Decatur, Alabama. 
Their, they will face the state champions of Region III that will include North Texas, South Texas, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee. 
The goal will be to play like champions in this competition to reach the National Cup Presidents tournament that will take place in July.
