City of El Paso to Hold the City Swimming Championships This Weekend

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will highlight another activity during National Parks and Recreation Month as the Department will host the City Swimming Championships for Public Leagues on July 23rd and 24th at Pavo Real Aquatic Center, 110 Presa Place.

Defending Champion in the Public League Competition is the Cowan Stingrays. “The meets begin at 8:00 a.m. with over 350 swimmers from throughout the city vying to be city champion in various individual and team events.” according to Wright Stanton, Aquatics Manger for the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department.

Admission is $2 per person. Public swimming will not be allowed at the Pavo Real Aquatic Center this weekend due to the competition.
