Starting pitcher, and one time Houston Astros outfielder, Jason Lane, was called up to the Padres from Triple-A El Paso this morning. Lane was 5-4 this season for the Chihuahuas, with a 4.36 ERA in 11 games started.
The El Paso Chihuahuas won their fourth straight game Sunday, beating the Tacoma Rainiers 5-4 at Southwest University Park. El Paso has now won seven of its last nine games. Matt Wisler pitched six innings and allowed just one run.
The El Paso Chihuahuas overcame a six-run deficit to beat the Tacoma Rainiers 11-10 Saturday night at Southwest University Park. It was the third time this season the Chihuahuas won a game after trailing by six runs or more.
Sunday’s game in Tacoma started with three scoreless innings before turning into a 14-12 slugfest won by the El Paso Chihuahuas. There were seven lead changes in the game, as five different relievers were given blown saves.
After three weeks of voting, the El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego Padres) won Minor League Baseball’s Clash of the Caps, proving that the El Paso Triple-A baseball team has the most popular logo around MiLB.
