After struggling against Parkland to open the playoffs, the Chapin Huskies pulled off an upset today over #19 Amarillo Palo Duro to advance to the next round of the playoffs. There were eight lead changes in the 4th quarter alone before the Huskies held off Palo Duro by making free throws and stopping their opponent on their last three possessions.
Bowie had an easy time against Hereford winning 71-41. Nnamdi Ezenwa scored a game-high 23 points. The Bears will play Chapin in the next round of the playoffs. Austin also had an easy time with their opponent, beating Big Spring 57-40.
Meanwhile, in 5A action, Americas needs overtime to beat Haltom 58-56. The Trail Blazers were up by 15 at one point in the 4th quarter before Haltom came all the way back to force overtime. Americas missed a jumper in regulation as time expired to win the game. Haltom had a chance to send the game into another overtime, or possibly win, but that shot also missed.
