The El Paso Diablos will not renew the contract for manager Butch Henry. Henry, a graduate of Eastwood High School, was the Diablo skipper for three seasons.

His replacement is former Diablo Jorge Alvarez, the 2007 American Association Player of the Year. General Manager Matt LaBlanche says Alvarez was an easy decision.

"Jorge is a guy that has a passion for the game. A ton of experience," said LaBlanche. "He is looking for his first managerial shot and we're going to give it to him. We think he is going to excel."

Alvarez has played professional baseball for over 25 years and spent last season with Shreveport where he won the league championship as a player and hitting coach.
