Brown Starts New Era at Andress
Texas High School Spring Football is underway for those who elect to hold it and Andress High School is one of those schools. It marks the first Spring in over four decades that the Eagles begin with a new head coach. Patrick Brown now roams the sidelines where retired coach Alan Sepkowitz made his reputation for 47 years. Brown says he expexts a smooth transition.
"We have great kids. They are yes sir, no sir kids. They are like any kid, and I don't care if you're Westside, Northeast, Eastside, they're kids. They are all kids. They want discipline and they want love and that's what we are going to give them," said Brown.
His players are already buying into the new system.
"It's a weird change but we are all willing to open up and do our hard work," said Senior lineman Kenneth Afoia. Senior running back Marcus Smoots added, "It took just a couple of weeks, because of how strict they are, they seem like our regular coaches. It's not even awkward anymore."
Spring workouts continue through next week.
