Scott Scheffler celebrated his 14th birthday with a 67 at the USGA Junior Amateur Sectional at El Paso Country Club, but is still one shot back of leader Dustin Blair going into the final round.

Scheffler is among the youngest players in the field. Jere Pelletier, who won the Bill Eschenbrenner Tournament at Lone Star Golf Club last week, shot 71 in his opening round.
