The Cincinnati Bengals today announced the signing of former Arizona and Burges quarterback John Skelton to be a backup to starter Andy Dalton.

Skelton was 8-9 as a starter for Arizona, since being drafted in 2010 in the fifth round out of Fordham University.  Skelton’s career passing totals are 320-for-602 (53.2%) for 3707 yards with 15 TDs and 25 INTs.

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis told Bengals.com, "We’re glad to add John to cultivate a competitive situation behind Andy Dalton.  He’s a young player (age 25), but he has had valuable experience starting and leading a team in the NFL.”
