Sports
Friday, March 15, 2013 - 5:44pm

The Highlanders stayed in El Paso when they hired their next head football coach picking up Horizon defensive coordinator Tony Cervantez to lead Big Red next season. It is Cervantez' first head coaching job after spending the past 10 years coaching defenses at El Dorado, Bel Air, and finally the Scorpions. He will also serve as Athletic Director for the Highlanders. Cervantes takes over for former coach Phil Lopez who went 2-8 last season, 0-7 in District 1-5A. Hear what Coach Cervantes had to say about becoming the next coach at Bel Air.
