Bears release ex-Miner QB Jordan Palmer
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — The Bears released former UTEP quarterback Jordan Palmer on Sunday as they got the roster down to 75 players. Palmer had the No. 2 spot on the depth chart for much of the offseason.
In three preseason games with Chicago, Palmer completed 21 of 30 passes for 225 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
The Bears named former Carolina Panthers and Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen backup to starter Jay Cutler.
Palmer could sign with another team or could also have a lucrative career ahead as a quarterback tutor. He worked with Blake Bortles throughout the draft process, and it's hard to argue with the results.
