BCS Standings for Sunday, November 25

After their 22-13 win over USC, the Fighting Irish remained #1 in the BCS Standings, and will play the SEC Championship game winner for the BCS National Title. Here are the latest BCS Standings:

1. Notre Dame (12-0) .9979

5. Oregon (11-1) .8626

Statement from BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock:
"Only one week remains in the best regular season in sports, and it's been a wild ride so far. Notre Dame's huge victory to solidify its No. 1 ranking, as well as the rest of this weekend's games, provided yet another example of why so many millions of us love college football. By this time next week, we will know who will play for the national championship in South Florida and who will fill all the other bowls across the country. I think I speak for all college football fans in saying we can't wait to see how it all plays out!"
• First-time school(s) in the BCS Standings: Utah State and San Jose State. A total of 90 schools have appeared in the BCS Standings since they were created in 1998. Seven schools have made their first appearances in the Standings this season.
• Schools debuting in 2012 BCS Standings: No. 21 Northern Illinois, No. 24 Utah State, No. 25 San Jose State.
• Dropped out of BCS Standings: No. 18 Rutgers, No. 20 Louisville, No. 24 Arizona, No. 25 Washington.
• In the previous 14 seasons of the BCS, the teams ranked Nos. 1 and 2 in the next-to-last week Standings have met for the BCS National Championship seven times, including each of the last two seasons.
• Kent State reaches its highest-ever place in the BCS Standings at No. 17 after debuting in the Standings for the first time in school history last week. The Golden Flashes' current ranking is the highest position for a MAC school since Ball State reached No. 12 on Nov. 30, 2008.
• For the second week in a row, the top nine teams remain exactly the same. The last time this happened in consecutive weeks was in the last two weeks of the 2000 BCS Standings.
• Fourteen teams from this week's BCS Standings will be in action next weekend:
- No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 3 Georgia (SEC Championship - Atlanta, Ga.)
- No. 6 Kansas State hosts No. 18 Texas
- No. 8 Stanford vs. No. 16 UCLA (Pac-12 Championship - Stanford, Calif.)
- No. 11 Oklahoma at TCU
- No. 12 Nebraska vs. Wisconsin (Big Ten Championship - Indianapolis, Ind.)
- No. 13 Florida State vs. Georgia Tech (ACC Championship - Charlotte, N.C.)
- No. 15 Oregon State hosts Nicholls State
- No. 17 Kent State vs. No. 21 Northern Illinois (MAC Championship - Detroit, Mich.)
- No. 20 Boise State at Nevada
- No. 23 Oklahoma State at Baylor
