Basketball skills camp coming to El Paso in August

Basketball Combine Presents its "Point Guard & Post Player Academy" Camp Aug.
4-8, 2014.

Friendships, self-confidence, skills, technique, and unforgettable lessons from notable coaches and inspirational speakers – Basketball Combine is pleased to announce its co-ed encore camp, "Point Guard & Post Player Academy" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. August 4 through 8 at El Paso High School, 800 E. Schuster Ave.

After a successful inaugural camp in June, Basketball Combine is having its second Co-ed event with exciting changes including upping the age of participants to high school level. Children ages 7 to 17 are invited to attend. Cost is $250 with breakfast and lunch served. No matter the skill level, Basketball Combine offers training for all players.

Featured speakers and coaches include:

- Taylor Jenkins - Assistant Coach Atlanta Hawks, NBA D-League Championship Coach, San Antonio Spurs Trained (5 Years)

- Squeaky Johnson - San Antonio Spurs D-League Champion, Charlotte Hornets Guard, NBA Guard (2007-Present), & Bob Cousy Nominee

- Nick Saenz - NBA Summer League Staff Member, Tony Parker Basketball Camp Lead Coach

- Steve Yellen - Former UTEP Player, Basketball In The Barrio Leader

- Leonard Owens - Former UTEP Basketball Player & Street Cred Instructor

- Tyler Tafoya - Former UTEP Basketball Player & Student Coach

- Joseph Welsh - Don Haskins Tournament Chair, El Paso Heat Basketball President

- Alex Arredondo - Abundant Living Faith Center Youth Pastor

Campers will participate in the following:

- Morning Individual Point Guard Institute Training - Morning point guard instruction with Squeaky Johnson (NBA), Tyler Tafoya (Former UTEP Player/Assistant Coach Wasatch Academy) & Nick Saenz (Coach In Charge Of Tony Parker's Camps & NBA Summer Leagues)

- Morning Individual Post Play Institute Training - Morning post play instruction with NBA prospect Daniel Chatchou & Professional Coaches From Mexico.

- Afternoon- Tournament Play Organized By School or Team
