The Base, El Paso’s premiere baseball and softball indoor training facility, and El Paso Papa Johns restaurants have joined together to accept donations of gently used baseball and softball equipment. Any area resident that donates three or more items at any of the local Papa Johns restaurants can take advantage of a buy one get one free pizza offer and be entered into a drawing for a year of free pizza. The donation of three or more gently used items at The Base, 6801 Commerce Avenue, will receive 30 minutes of free batting cage time. All the items donated will be refurbished and offered for sale at the “Fall Ball Sale” on September 6th and 7th at the Base. The proceeds for the sale will go to fund the “Base Play after-school” program, introducing children from economically distressed areas of El Paso to the games of baseball and softball.

“The call for Fall Ball donations is a great time for families to do a little house cleaning, take advantage of a special offer and get the satisfaction of helping elementary school kids, who do not have the luxury of after school activities, learn the great game of baseball,” said Meaghan Moran, Development Director at The Base. “The Fall Ball Sale in September is also an opportunity for families to purchase good equipment at a deep discount – just in time for the fall seasons.”

The special offers for Fall Ball donations will continue through the end of August, 2014.
