As Temperature Falls, So Do UTEP Football Season Ticket Prices
Sports
Saturday, July 30, 2011 - 6:10pm

UTEP fans will be able to purchase new football season tickets at a discount price Aug. 8-12 as part of a special weather promotion.

For that week only, new season tickets in the Bronze Reserved section will be available for the same price as the low temperature in El Paso on Saturday, Aug. 6 – the first day of the Miners’ Socorro training camp. The official reading will be taken at the El Paso Airport.

The anticipated low that day, based on Weather.com’s extended forecast, is 78 degrees.

The Miners will kick off the season at home on Sept. 3 versus Stony Brook. UTEP’s 2011 home schedule features three games versus 2010 bowl teams with Southern Miss (Oct. 29), East Carolina (Nov. 12) and Tulsa (Nov. 19) all set to visit El Paso. The Miners will also renew an old Western Athletic Conference rivalry on Oct. 22 when Colorado State comes to town for Homecoming. UTEP will host Houston, led by quarterback Case Keenum, on Sept. 29.
