Armstrong awaits Oprah for interview in Austin

Several news crews were staked out in front of Lance Armstrong's Austin, Texas, home this morning, as the cyclist prepared for his interview with Oprah Winfrey later this afternoon. Several crews arrived before dawn, hoping to catch a glimpse of Winfrey or Armstrong, who jogged through the neighborhood on Sunday.

After a decade of denials, Armstrong is expected to apologize and come clean about his role in an alleged doping scheme on the U.S. Postal Service cycling teams. According to an anonymous source, Armstrong apologized to the staff at his Livestrong cancer foundation. He did so before heading to an interview with Oprah Winfrey, which is said to have taken place at an undisclosed location away from Armstrong's home.

The source also said Armstrong apologized for letting the staff down and putting Livestrong at risk but he did not make a direct confession to the group about using banned drugs. After the meeting, Armstrong, his legal team and close advisers gathered at a downtown Austin hotel for the interview.
