Aggies Ranked in National Poll

Aggies Ranked in National Poll
Sports
Friday, February 10, 2012 - 7:14pm

In the current CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Division I poll, the New Mexico State swimming and diving team ranks No. 15 in the country.

"It is great to be recognized on the poll again and be in the middle of some strong programs," head coach Rick Pratt said. "It certainly is a good indicator of what we are doing here and is motivating to our team headed into conference."

The Aggies are currently preparing for the WAC Championships, Feb. 22-25, in San Antonio, Texas.

Now in its 10th year, the Mid-Major Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams' relative strength in a traditional dual meet lineup. The ranking is available to those institutions that a) are not members of a BCS conference or Mountain West Conference, or b) provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
