UPDATED: Saturday, November 3, 2012 - 10:39pm

Auburn literally ran their way to victory.  The Tigers piled up 311 yards on the ground, Tre Mason rushed for 152 yards and Onterio McCalebb added 113 and two touchdowns as Auburn won it, 42-7 over New Mexico State.

The Aggies have lost eight straight games, falling to 1-8 overall, while Auburn improves to 2-7.  NMSU's Andrew Manley was 17-30 for 222 yards, but the offense stalled for much of the second half.  NMSU committed only two turnovers, but one was a dagger by LB Daren Bates, who returned a fumble 62 yards for a touchdown and a 21-0 third quarter lead.

NMSU RB Tiger Powell scored on a 2-yard run early in the fourth quarter for the lone Aggies points.  The Aggies tallied 205 yards of total offense, led by wide receiver Austin Franklin who caught seven passes for 154 yards. Running back Germi Morrison led the running attack with 79 yards on 19 carries. Defensively, the Aggies gave up 475 total yards to Auburn, as George Callender led the team with 10 tackles and an interception, the first of his career. Davis Cazares added eight stops.

NMSU will host San Jose State next Saturday at Aggie Memorial Stadium, kickoff scheduled for 1:30pm.
