Aggies Fall To Lobos Again
Las Cruces — The streak now stands at 10 of 11. The Aggies have just one win against the Lobos in the last 11 games after losing to New Mexico 79-70 at the Pan American Center on Wednesday night.
A pair of Lobos did most of the damage. Kendall Williams scored 24 points and Cameron Bairstow tallied 20. Daniel Mullings led New Mexico State with 16 points while Sim Bhullar pulled down 10 rebounds
The 109th meeting between the two schools started off as an even match. Despite shooting 38 per cent from the field in the first half and making only 4-19 three pointers, the Aggies trailed by only 10 at the break 39-29 and trimmed the deficit to just four in the second half.
The Lobos stopped any comeback attempt by making free throws. New Mexico was 29-37 at the line while the Aggies made 18-10 free throws but shot 17 fewer attempts.
The New Mexico State fans showed their displeasure by throwing debris onto the court causing a technical to be blown against the Aggies.
The rematch takes place December 17th in Albuquerque.
