LAS CRUCES, N.M. (Dec. 16)-Bandja Sy scored 12 points to lead New Mexico State past Oklahoma Panhandle State 78-46 on Thursday.

Renaldo Dixon added 10 for the Aggies (4-7) and Tyrone Watson, Christian Kabongo and Gordo Castillo each scored nine.


Marcale Marshall led Oklahoma Panhandle State (2-9) with 12 points.


NMSU led 38-20 at the half after outscoring Panhandle State 25-4 in the last 8:42 of the first half, including a 17-0 spurt over four minutes.


New Mexico State’s run answered a 9-0 OPSU run that put Panhandle State up 14-13 with 9:15 left in the half. NMSU shot 43.1 percent for the game while Panhandle State was 24.6 percent on 16-of-65 shooting.


New Mexico State scored 21 points off 22 Oklahoma Panhandle State turnovers and outscored OPSU 32-12 in the paint.
