Aggie Baseball opens season Friday at home vs Wake Forest
The New Mexico State baseball team opens the 2012 season with a four-game series against Wake Forest at Presley Askew Field, Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 19. The opening game on Friday starts at 4:05 p.m. (MT), the doubleheader on Saturday begins at 2:05 p.m. (MT) and the series finale starts at 2:05 p.m. (MT) on Sunday.
Media Coverage: Game two of the doubleheader, Saturday, Feb. 18, along with the series finale, Sunday, Feb. 19 are scheduled to air on the radio in Las Cruces at KSNM AM 570. Long time voice of Aggie Baseball, Jeff Matthews returns for another season to give the play-by-play action. Fans can listen to Matthews give the action from anywhere in the world for a fee by going to the official website of NM State Athletics and clicking on the live events link.

Tickets: Fans can call the Pan American Center ticket office or call (575) 646-1420 to purchase tickets ahead of time or walk up to the ticket booth at Presley Askew Field to buy tickets the day of the game.
Season tickets for baseball are $49 for adults, $44 for NM State faculty and staff and $44 for senior citizens. Single game tickets cost $6 for adults and $4 per ticket with groups of ten or more. Children 12-and-under can enter the games for free, while NM State students also get in free.
Promotions: This week's promotions at Presley Askew Field include a backpack give away from Southwest Dairy. The first 100 fans to Saturday's doubleheader at 2:05 p.m. will receive a backpack courtesy of Southwest Dairy. On Sunday, fans can buy hot dogs for only 50-cents and players will sign autographs after the game. This weekend's series sponsor is La Quinta.
Opponents: The Aggies take on Wake Forest this week at Presley Askew Field. The Deacon Demons finished with a 25-31 overall record in 2011 and ended conference (ACC) play with a 15-15 record, earning the No. 8 seed in their league tournament. Wake Forest eventually fell to Virginia, North Carolina and Miami in the tournament.
Series Record: This marks the first meeting between NM State and Wake Forest.
