ABOUT THE AGGIES: The Aggies head into this weekend’s games sitting in a tie for the fourth spot of the league standings. NM State is 23-19 overall and 8-7 in WAC play. The team dropped a series to Texas State on opening weekend of league play, then traveled to CSU Bakersfield and won one of three games there. The Aggies bounced back and took the series from Dallas Baptist, who was picked to win the WAC in the preseason coaches’ poll, but fell in two of the three games versus Sacramento State. Last weekend the Aggies swept the series against Louisiana Tech to move up in the WAC standings.
