A stellar field of 12 will run in the $85,000 Pepsi Cola Stakes on Saturday at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino.

Mountain Top Futurity and New Mexico Classic Cup Juvenile winner Reaper looms large in the featured 10th race going six furlongs. Irwin Rosendo rides the winner of 3 races from 5 starts with earnings topping $200,000. The three-year-old son of Attila’s Storm is the 3-1 morning line favorite for trainer Todd Fincher.

Red Hedeman Mile runner-up D E Lover will be very tough to handle. The crack sprinter has two career wins and is listed at 5-1 odds with Miguel Perez in the irons. The well bred Some Devon deserves a look coming off a promising debut win at Sunland Park on Dec. 27.

1000 free Pepsi T-Shirts will be given away starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Patrons can make donations to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. First post time is 12:15 p.m. for the 11 race card.

Sunday’s main event is the $50,000 KOFX Radio Handicap at 350 yards. An outstanding field including Bet On Ballou and Tf Featured Effort is set to compete.
