An early morning jaunt in Ascarate Park benefits those with disabilities...
EL PASO - No pain... no gain.
"My back is sore, my back's killing me right now as a matter of fact."
"A little sore from up here."
Nearly 300 participants crossed the finish line of the 18th annual Run, Walk and Roll to help those with disabilities take their injuries in stride.
"I didn't know there was going to be that many people and there's actually a lot of people here to support us and cheer us on and telling them not to give up and keep going."
Proceeds from this yearly 5K...organized by the Physical Therapy Association... benefit the local chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association.
"It shows that even though you're in a wheelchair, you can still be athletic and enjoy competiton."
Like the NSCIA... the race provides support to those who live life on a roll.
"You feel you're not done. that's what makes it great to be out here. You also get to talk to other people...it's great."
"I'm a little tired, but just to get out here and get some fresh air...feeling good."
About 10 wheelchair racers participated in the event.
