Ride 2 Recovery Texas Challenge day 6: team work makes the dream work

Friday was the sixth and final day of the Ride 2 Recovery Texas Challenge. The group of more than 200 cyclists rode their bikes 64 miles from Cleburne to Fort Worth on the warm, sunny, spring day, completing their 450 mile journey.

Day 3 of the Ride 2 Recovery Texas Challenge was much shorter in mileage than previous days, but certainly not much sweeter. After traveling 190 miles in two days, one would think that 44 miles would be easy, right? Wrong!

After a day of full traveling we arrived at the Ride 2 Recovery registration and orientation, along with 200 healing Soldiers and Veterans from across the country.

We are boarding our plane now. Our check-in with all of the luggage and bike boxes was super easy. Southwest Airlines attendants were very helpful and TSA representatives promised to treat our bikes with special care.

Last minute adjustments before the R2R Texas Challenge

After a 30-mile Project HERO group ride which started at the "break of dawn" on Fort Bliss in the frigid temperatures and gusty winds, it was time for a last minute adjustment for my bicycle.
