Passport Lines in Las Cruces

Friday, May 29, 2009 - 4:20pm

Even early birds had to wait a while to apply for passport at the Post Office in Las Cruces. Some people stood in line for more than three hours.
Diana Ibarra and her two brothers finally got to the front of the line at about one this afternoon. A passport is something they can't do without. They live in Palomas, Mexico, but they're U.S. citizens. Once they apply, it takes four to six weeks to get the passport. In the meantime they can use today's receipts to cross the border.
