El Paso, TX (KTSM) — There are new school zone safety flashers alerting motorists of pedestrians near James Butler Elementary and SSG Manuel Puentes Middle in East El Paso, the City of El Paso Department of Transportation (EPDoT) announced today.
The installation of school zone safety flashers on Ralph Seitsinger and Tim Foster was completed this week and the lights will become operational effective Wednesday, June 18th, 2014.
The project was funded 100 percent by the Socorro Independent School District.
EPDoT worked with administrators at the campuses and their respective school district to develop the plan for the project.
School zone safety flashers are intended to alert motorists of the school zones and draw attention to pedestrians and school zone speed limits.
