EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Schizophrenia is a disease that affects more than 3 million Americans, and many aren't being properly treated for it.
That's why the Emergence Health Network is partnering with Genoa Healthcare to provide pharmacy services at its central outpatient clinics.
They brought their message home through a demonstration that allows people the opportunity to experience what it's like to have schizophrenia through a device that mimics their ailments.
They're hoping to make medications more readily available through the pharmacy.
" Instead of leaving with their prescription in hand they will leave with their medications on hand and will have access to their pharmacist here on hand," said EHN CEO Kristi Daugherty.
A pharmacy on their east side clinic should be completed in about six months.
