No fireworks for the 4th straight year
El Paso, TX (KTSM) — As we continue to progress into the summer season, we continue to stay very warm. We ended our May month on a heat advisory, and that's the same way we started off our month of June.
We saw 8 straight days of triple digits, and the weekend, helped us break that hot streak.
Our humidity has been pretty low as well.
We saw our humidity in the teens last night (Sunday) but that was as high as we've seen it this month. Currently we are seeing our humidity level in the single digits and I am predicting it will stay this way for the month of July as well.
It's no surprise that the county has lifted a fireworks ban in El Paso.
It is an unfortunate ban, but a crucial one. I only say unfortunate for those who make a living off of them.
But imagine cracking fireworks on the most dry and hot area.
The city would be engulfed in flames. Ok, so maybe I am being a little over dramatic, but not too far off of what we could expect if these fireworks were to be used in the city.
I myself am not one for being big on fireworks, but I do enjoy them.
So if you really do want to enjoy areal spectacles, you can always head out to areas with professionally lit fireworks.
Head on over to the Chihuahua's game on Thursday, July 3rd. The dogs never fail, after the game on Thursday, they will have some amazing fireworks display. They take on Albuquerque at 6:35p.m. that day.
Or if you want a fun day in the sun, head on over to Western Playland. They will be having a display themselves on the 4th of July - 1249 Futurity Drive Sunland Park, NM
There is also the option Wet N’ Wild. They usually have a fireworks display on the 4th of July, and this year won't be an exception. You can head over there this holiday! – 8804 South Desert Anthony, TX
Lastly, for those who just want to relax and enjoy a fun experience, be part of the Music Under the Stars with the El Paso Wind Symphony this July 4th at the Chamizal National Memorial Park!
Plenty of things to do this national holiday that can keep us all safe but still have an amazing time in the outdoors.
Be safe this summer!
