Parkland scored in the first inning and never looked back as the Matadors took a 1-0 lead in their best of three series against the Jefferson Silver Foxes with a 5-1 victory. In the 4th inning, Parkland created even more separation with three runs. One came on a play where Jefferson committed two errors. Kalena Sifuentes grounded to 3rd, but the throw was in the dirt and got passed the first baseman. When Sifuentes advanced to 2nd, a throw to 2nd was high and the ball sailed into left field. Sifuentes turned what should have been a ground-out into and inside-the-park home run. Later in the inning, Parkland loaded the bases and Sam Barajas hit a line drive that zoomed passed the shortstop and into center field, allowing two runs to score.
